THE BUILD PROCESS
Site work & excavation
Every site is different and requires a unique approach. It may be as simple as scraping the top soil and excavating for the foundation. Some sites will have additional tasks to be completed such as brush and tree removal along with site grading and reshaping.
foundation and flat work
Whether its a crawl space, a full basement or a walkout basement, the foundation is the structural support that your home will sit on. Special care is given to drainage to ensure your basement stays dry. Once the foundation is complete we will request the foundation draw
Framing, windows and exterior finishes
This phase of your project is one of the most exciting as you get to see your home take shape. The framing process includes the floor, interioir and exterior walls and the roof system. Once the home is framed in the roofing will be installed followed by windows, exterior doors and the exterior finishes.
rough electrical, plumbing and mechanical
The wiring and switches will be installed along with plumbing supply and drain lines and mechanical ductwork
Insulation and drywall
Once the rough electrical, mechanical and plumbing inspections are complete we will insulate the exterior walls. Some municipalities require an insulation inspection which would happen at this point. Drywall is then hung, taped and mudded and finished to the required texture. Once the drywall is installed the ceilings / attics can be insulated.
finish carpentry, painting and staining
In this phase your interior doors and trim will be installed along with all other wood work such as built-ins, cabinetry, countertops and vanaties. The walls will be prepped and painted and wood work will either be painted or stained depending on your design.
Flooring and finishing touches
Any hardwood, tile or carpet flooring will be installed at this point. All electrical, plumbing and mechanical finishes will be completed. All closet shelving, mirrors or any final details will be completed. We will walk through and create a punchlist at this point to make sure we have addressed any areas of concern.
